Camlin contest for making masks

It was very interesting for me to watch Hari, engaged in making mask for his brother. They are preparing for a competition of masks , organised by Camlin. They have to colour it by Camlin crayons. Hari had made a cute mask of cat for Sree. He had made a goggle mask with some laces for him also. My Camera is not in working condition so I am totally disappointed.

The chart with dry leaves. Its a nice time with them. Hari had done all these including the pasting and border drawing. I helped him to identify the names. Sree liked the peepal leaves because its shape remembered him of LOVE.

Its Time for Vacation Project

Hari is busy with his vacation projects. He has to make a chart with pictures of living and non living things. I am very proud to say that he is doing these things in his own way. I had seen lot of parents worrying about their children's dependant nature. We have to give them instructions but allow them to do it as they like. It may not be perfect, but they have to know the pains, frustrations and hard work behind every work. After finishing it they can also enjoy the credit also. In my home Sree is in UKG. So he has no projects and nothing to study. So he is continuously interfearing with the elders work. So I had to give him another project...
Hari's another project is dry leaves collection. He had collected some leaves and they are in the lap of our dictionaries. But he is least interested in Botany. So its my duty to find the names. I like it most, really I want more of these projects.
Some tips on this project are

Collect leaves

For drying it we can place it in pages of thick books or we can place it in between newspaper and place a weight on top of it. After 3-4 days change the newspaper and repeat the procedure.

Then we can paste it on chart paper or in book

We have to write its name in English, in our language and its scientific name

Its a nice project to know our nature

Every leaf is different in its texture, shape and smell.

Its a great pleasure to see our children doing such things and watching them behind. It can not be explained in words. We can join them to accomplish their great tasks and to upbring them as as a nice person. Yes, I am finding great joy in small things, its the title of today's post of my favourite blogger. It was a nice play with our hands. Its very nice to play with children. Hands are placed once over the other. We have to pinch the other hand just below us. Playing with Clay

It is very nice to observe children when they are working seriously. Making beads from the clay and arranging them in the board. This is his own creation. Sree was really interested to do things but always mix all the colours....

The above two works are done by Sree himself. He had made an ornament with clay beads. The next one is of Leech(Atta in malayalam). He had added different colours to the world of 'Attas'. According to him it is the 'Racing of Atta':))

Clay is an ideal material to play with. We have used modelling clay, it was non toxic. I had purchased it from A1 stores at South Railway station, Ernakulam. They had two models of the same. One model is brown or ash coloured rectangle another one has multicoloured clay. I had bought the two models. First day it was a thrilling experience. The next week our in law's visited us and they had done some good job with clay. It was a creative scene everyone in the house with a ball of clay and always appreciating and laughing at others creations. Our brother in law made a cashew nut and some amazing models with clay. The first picture shows the result of his work.

Little Architects from my home

Hari had made these homes. I always talk to him about other blogs. During navarathri days I had talked him about 'Bomma golu' and other craft activities by children. I was so inspired by the crafts made by Anuradha in her blog. After a week he planned to make some houses. Two of the houses are made by him.

We had used Camel water colour tubes, Fevicol craft glue and cellotape, chart paper and some coloured papers.

Hari and Sree so busy ....

i I loved this one with a muddy look and some greens. The black coloured object is the well!!!!

Children have so many hidden talents so let them do some activities, we must help them through giving ideas and tools for the activities. Nowadays they have no option for wandering and playing without limits. We can have some craft time together to express our joy and love towards them.

About the seasons

Hari has to submit a chart of seasons. We had planned to do a collage of seasons. It took a lot of time so we had completed with two seasons summer and rainy. It was a nice and hardworking evening it reminded me of my college days. We had done with some painted drawings and some cutouts. Sree was also eager to make a mess among all these works.

We had no acryilic colours at home because of that we had decided to end up with a collage. In summer season we decide to focus on the hot sun, Blue clouds, fresh water melon, Cotton cloth , ice cream and fresh flowers.

In rainy season we have to paste dark clouds, rain drops, a frog, a boat made of paper, an umbrella and a tree.

It was a nice experiment with Hari. He was so responsible and also comfortable to take more tasks. We have to make other seasons also and we are searching for new ideas.

We had seen two 'Kakka koodu' on the top of a tree near to our home. Pappu was so curious to know about the nest. It was made of twigs. We can see it from our terrace. Whenever he see the nest he will sing the famous song

Flowers from pencil shavings.
Three smiling flowers. Children needs our presence to do something. This is done by my son with my help. We have some colour pencils, some smiling stickers, white paper and fevicol craft glue.
If we are planning to do a round flower sharpen the pencils with great care. First glue all the flowers then draw the stem and leaves. I had drawn the stem and leaves with the colour pencil. Then I had pasted a smiling sticker at the centre piece. I love these flowers and we had pasted it in our living room because this image has a lot of love in it.
Its an easy craft. My four year old enjoyed all these works.

Hari has to study about games. What are the indoor games and outdoor games? He has to say about the chess, snake and ladder, cricket and football.
After the home works, I thought about the games I had participated in my childhood. I was very fond of 'Akku kali' and 'Chena kali'. Akku kali was with a small stone piece and we had to move that with legs to every box. Chena is elephant yam and we had to draw a chena with our legs. I feel so funny to recollect that days. Another play was 'Kuttiyum kolum' then 'Trunk kali' then comes the 'Thayam kali'. Kuttiyum kolum was the ancient form of Cricket, instead of ball we used two sticks one small and the other large. Thayam kali was like snake and ladder instead of the single dice we used small sticks made from the 'Ola madal' stem of the coconut leaves. According to their position we have to change our 'Karu'. This game was played by elders also. It may be an ethnic game of Kerala.
Valappottukali was another colourful game. There was a colourful collection of Valappottu that means pieces of bangles(kuppivala and plastic ones). It may be a girl's game.
Ittooli- no clues to the heading. Its a game with safety pin. One will throw the pin and others have to find out. Its the dearest game of my children.
There was a game with 'manjadikkuru' also. Its official name is pallankuzhi. It was a cool game and still remember the colourful combination of the red shining manjadikkurus in the back ground of wooden pallankuzhi board.

Another one was 'Kuzhi panthu'. Then 'Sat kali', 'kanjiyum karivekkal kali', 'pachila thodal kali' and 'Kannu ketti kali'. Any way its very interesting to remember about the nice things about the childhood because there is a child in every one of us.

Maram Kothi

Sree and Hari always alert to the creatures around them. I had bought a book which describes lot of small creatures around us. After that they watch every birds and small insects around us. The above picture is of 'Maram Kothi' or wood pecker. They had noticed four of them on a coconut tree in front of our house. But we didn't got the four because they are on the other side.

I became so happy that they are also loving birds and creatures around them. In my childhood we had a story related with maram kothi. Maram kothis wants to build his own home and he checks the wood with his beak. But he is not satisfied with anyone thus the search continues. I had told them that maram kothi is searching for the small creatures inside the wood for their food. Pappu then commented that it is amma, achan and children. He was sure that they are playing and also they are in a park!!!!!

Pappu always connects the real things with imagination. He is always hesitant to bath. Then I told him that there will be lot small creatures in your body with dirt. We can not see them. They will make you sick so we have to clean the body with soap and water then you will be in the pure form and you will smell good. After that he always tell soap is the king and water is his assistant who fight with their enemies: enemies are dirt, sweat and bacterias.

Hari has to present some words before the assembly. He can choose the topic and he can also read it before them. I suggested him to say about Mahatma Gandhi. Then I have to explain them about British rulers. He was also curious to know more about Gandhi appooppan. I told him about his attire. He was so firm to choose his dress as a layman in India. It was a nice evening with lot of discussions about some great men who gave up their luxuries for the freedom struggle of India. I told him about 'Ahimsa' non violence and 'Satya graha'. Then came 'salt satyagraha' and Swadeshi movement.

Its a great thing to tell about a topic. We have to be precise. It must be digestible to an 8 year old. It must be simple. This effort by the school is appreciable because its a window to the great ocean of knowledge.

At last we finished our task with these words

'Mohandas Karam Chand Gandhi is the father of our nation. He was born in Gujarath.
He was the main leader of the freedom movement against British. He introduced different
methods of strikes against British in a peaceful way. 'Satyagraha' and and 'Nissahakarana' are

Iva Motto's Cycle and some confusions

Some questions from children make us silent. Yesterday I am showing some photos of the bomb blast in Hiroshima to my children. It was very painful to convince them about the most innocent people dead after this attack. They want to know how war will come. How can we know the time and escape from the present place. In that pictures one was of a small rusted cycle. Story accompanied with the cycle as follows. Iva Motto was a small boy in Hiroshima who loved his small cycle as any other child. When the bomb blasted he was playing with his cycle, he dead sitting at his dearmost playmate. Cycle remained as a close monument to that little child who became a martyr of war fronts. The cycle is now kept at a museum in Japan.
After hearing the story Hari asked me 'Will you keep this cycle of me as my monument, If anyone will attack with a bomb' I told there will not be any bomb attacks and this happened long ago. But I am also not so sure of what I am saying...

I had bought a book for Sree. He had not started reading yet but I think pictures will tempt him to read the book. It was a nice book with lot of pictures and very nice event that happened in Noha's Ark. Wonderful Pictures and an easy rendering. He loved it and started to imitate the happenings of the book.
When we select books for small children, more pictures will result in more fun. More than buying a book we have to find enough time to read with them also. I wrote his name on the book and the date. He was overwhelmed with joy seeing his name on the book. It was a grateful moment for me for having them make my world more happier.

Yesterday I was too tired and told Sree to tell me a story, after great attempt he started to tell the story of Aama chettan and Ottakkaran Muyal. It is very nice to hear the story that we taught from my little one's. Then we sung the lines of the story'Pathu pathungi pammi nadakkum kunjikuzhimadiyan' . It was a nice time. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Lines of the song.

Brothers in Ramayana

'Bali Sugreeva Yudham'
When we go through Ramayana, we can see all type of family relation ships in it. Whenever we talk about brothers we can not forget Rama and Lakshmana. They were always together. It may be due to the fact that Sumitra got two portions of Kheer from Kausalya and Kaikeyi. She gave birth to two children, Lakshmana and Shatrugna. Lakshmana was always with Rama and Bharatha with Shatrugna. So many instances in Ramayana which reveal the love and affection of Rama towards his little brother.

Another pair is Jatayu and Sambathi. Two eagle brothers, also play an important role in this great epic.

Its a story with lot of brotherly affection. Jadayu and Sambathi were two eagle brothers. Oneday they made a bet and started to flew high in the sky. They neared the sun. Sambathi was the elder. He saw Jadayu nearing to the sun. Fastly he over ride Jadayu and spread his wings over him to save him from the scorching heat of sun. Then his feathers burnt and he lost his wings. He fell on the top of rocky hill in a sea side.
After that jadayu tried to save Sita devi from Ravana. After the encounter with Ravana he dead. Before his death he told Rama about the kidnapping.
During the search time of sita devi the monkeys found Samabathi and told about the death of jadayu. He gave valuable information to monkeys about Sitadevi.

Karkkidakam is the Ramayana month of Kerala. A creative ritual to read an epic in one month, it may be a compulsive reading but we can go through the whole epic. Ramayana is rich with spiritual principles and small stories. My children like these stories...
Story of Valmiki
The story of the great author of Ramayana. Its a story to convince children about the power of 'Rama' sound.
The original name of Valmiki was Ratnakara and he was a thief. He looked after his family through robbery. One day saptharshis came through his way. He tried to attack them. They asked him about his work. He said that through this he have to look after his familly. They asked if the family will share his sins also. He went to home and asked his family members whether they will share his sins also. They rejected . Very sadly he came back to the saints and told them about the happenings. They told him to sit below a tree and tell'mara mara' without any break. It will eradicate his sins. Then he started to do the process and rishis continued their journey. After several years they came back through the same path. Then they saw a 'valmikam' an ant hill in the place where he meditated. They found him under the ant hill still uttering the words 'Ramaramarama'. After that he got the name Valmiki, who emerged from Valmikam. Its the story behind the great saint. With the blessings of Sri Rama he became the first poet in Sanskrith. Thus he got the name Aadi kavi.

Children will like these type of stories and they will become aware of the power of such sounds. Please share your views..

A white board

We had arranged a white board for children to draw and to write. In my school days I was very eager to have a black board. I was very curious to play teacher games and to write whatever I want. Now I fulfilled my wish through my children. But this board is not a black board its a white one.
After its arrival Hari's study time changed into a fun time. He write more words and more spelling games. One of the games he is interested is making words from the letters of the given word.
Sri also trying his best to make this board a platform to paint. Before its arrival it was a common scene in our house, sri with an urge to draw and desparate to find paper and sketch pen. It may be under a cot or under a cupboard after the last days encounter. Now he is happy and he can draw whatever he want. Yes, its a pleasure for me to have their smiling face more than anything else....
I am trying to find more spelling games through internet.

Stories to Children

Blogging helps me to know more about parenting. I follow more than 15 blogs and it help me to get different perceptions about different topics. Sometimes I wonder how they manage to do so. I like to read mother's blogs. They have to tell a lot about their little ones. Every child has its own plus and minus. My elder one is having a great craze to cars. From the age of 2 he began to identify the model. Now he wants to know more technical details like mileage and space etc. He is not so interested to stories but like to read Auto magazines. My little one have an innate affection towards dance.
Hari and Sree are eager to hear stories of puranas. Yesterday I had told him about Sree Shankaracharya. I had told him about the story with crocodile and about the raining of gold gooseberries by chanting 'Kanakadhara sthothram'. You can read the story behind this stotram here.
My little one is more curious about these stories. Seeing their response I decided to tell them more about the eminent personalities of the world.

Vacation project

To make a chart of different types of dry leaves that was Hari's vacation project. We really enjoyed to do the project. It was a nice one. His grand parents also collected leaves from surroundings. We pasted them in a book. I wondered how many variety of leaves. Different colours, different textures and their smells. We have to become more close to the nature to know every aspect of it and to know how it cares us.
He had collected more than 100 leaves which included big trees like Peral, Arayal, Aanjily, Koovalam and Plavu. Creepers like Koval, Padavalam, Paval and Achinga payar. Herbs like Thulasi and panikkoorkka. I am eagerly waiting for his teacher's comment on this work.

Vacation Projects for Hari

He has to do some yoga during vacation which include surynamaskaram. But his main project is to collect various leaves and make an album using dry leaves. It sounds so interesting to me but he is least interested in it. He always thinks about cars...cars and cars. He is very familiar about power window and power steering.

Any how we had collected some leaves and kept it for perfect drying. I hope to take some pictures the dry leaves album.

Kariyila thoughts...

In malayalam we had a story about 'Kariyila' and 'Mannangatta'. It was an interesting simple story. Kariyila is fallen leaves dried in sun light.

In Kerala everymorning we have to clean courtyard of our home. Most of the homes contain shady trees in front of the house. This cleaning process is known as 'Muttamadikkal' broom is called 'Choolu'. Choolu is made from the core portion of coconut leaves known as 'Eerkil'.

Snacks for vacation

I had purchased one small packet of popcorn seeds from varkeys super market, Petta. According to the instructions in the packet I had made fresh and hot popcorns for my little ones. Pappu is very fond of fried items than juices or fruits.
We have to select a vessel with hard bottom and with a lid
Pour some oil or butter into it
Put a pinch of salt, Corriander powder (malli podi) and Chilli powder(mulaku podi) to the oil
After that add 2-3 spoon of pop corn seeds into it
Stir occasionally
Close the lid
We can hear the spluttering sound

Grape juice

Our Sunday's special was Grape juice. Grapes may be the fruits with large amount of pesticides in it. But its juice is a great refresher and nutritious.
I had purchased the purple grapes from Maradu wholesale market. It was fresh and price was also reasonable. Its an apt place to buy vegetables and fresh fruits. More about Maradu urban wholesale market.
I put the grapes for two hour in water sprinkled with salt and turmeric.

Washed them thoroughly

Boiled them in a clean vessel

I had no juicer so I blended the grapes and sugar using a mixie

Then strained it using a sieve or we may use a clean cloth

Chilled the juice

Serve them with great pride....

Its very important to add some fruits in our daily diet in this summer season. Shakes are apt to this season. Children will drink the milk with different colour and flavour. I think its an easy way to have them fruits along with milk.
Today a hasty visit to my friend at palluruthy opened before us the exotic taste of guava with the wonderful colour. She gave me an instant guava shake. I forgot to take pictures because of its freshness and taste.....
Yesterday I bought one bottle Real fruit juice for my children. Frankly I didn't liked it. With that money we can make more quantity of fresh juice or milk shakes. If we are in a comfortable place to make such things try these things....they are cheaper, fresh and reliable.
Her receipe of guava shake:
two ripe Guava, some ice cubes,milk and sugar. The output was a siky milk shake with wonderful pink colour.

Select full ripe guava with pink colour
Wash it thouroughly in running water
Peel it
Cut it into small cubes
Put it in a mixie and make a smooth paste
add sufficient amount of milk and sugar
Strain it
Serve with a proud smile
Result will be awesome...
We can add one or two crushed ice cubes to it
Try it out just now!!!!
If you are adding chilled milk no need to add ice cubes

Vacations bring a mixed feeling of tension and relax. I am surfing throughout the net for home made easy receipis for my children.
They love ice creams very much. I had made ice cream last week without an ice cream maker. For that I had purchased one Ice cream powder (fruito man's) and Fresh cream from Varkeys super market. We will get different flavours of ice cream powder. Mangoe, Pine apple etc. Another brand name of ice cream powder is Bakers.
I boiled one packet milk(500 ml) with one packet ice cream powder. Allow it to cool. Then blend it in Mixie with Fresh cream. Freeze it. Blend the mixture in an interval of one hour. We got a tasty and frothy(not so smooth as we buy) ice cream. But we can have it with a pride b'se its home made.....
I had made this without ice cream powder last year. Then we must have sugar, corn flour, vanilla syrup and fresh cream with milk. It was also tasty.

Some times I feel guilty for having not enough time to spent quality time with my children. I am really eager to tell the stories of Harishchandra, shibi chakraborthy and Sri rama. In my childhood Amar chitrakatha was my best friend and I had carried a few copies during our journeys. Poombatta was also a great entertainer. We had no Television, reading was the most popular entertainment on holidays.
Now my children always play like some terror charecters in cartoon channel, I am in a confused state that will there be an ideal personality in their mind other than the TV charecters.

Karthika vilakku is a special occasion for keralites. Like Deepavali its also the day of lights. 'Thamasorma Jyothirgamaya' lead me to light. This may be the logo of Karthika vilakku too. According to the place the legend behind the occasion changes. In my place we lit lights to welcome Srimuruka our temple's diety after his victory over tharakasura. In some places the legend is connected with goddess of that place. Anyway its a celebration over the victory of god against evil forces. I like this type of festivals. Children also like it. They will also be a part of it by arranging the 'Chirathu'. Another main attractionl of this festival is 'Karthika puzhukku'. In Chottanikkar temple karthika vilakku is a gand celebration.

Last day we spend an evening in Alappuzha beach. We can see half built bridge in this beach now its not in good condition. Children spend their time playing in the sand. we can see Kite sellers every where in the beach. We also bought one kite. It was a tough task to my husband to help them to play with that kite. There is a good park for children very near to the beach. The sea was calm and we saw the sunset.

Hari liked to play with his father and pappu was with me. Pappu like stories more than Hari. Hari is very much interested to cars. I think its more than a 7 years old to play with a toy car. He wants to know more about it and likes magazines of cars.

But Pappu is always curious about our purana characters. Yesterday I bought two books containing lovely pictures. One is of Ganesha and the other is of Hanuman. When I gave that book to pappu I saw his interest to that stories of Little Hanuman and Ganesha.

Just opposite to the beach an Indian coffee house with lawn facility is there. We like their cutlets. It was a nice evening ...

Spending time with your child

Being a good parent we have to spend some time with our tots. My little ones will be very
happy to tell stories, songs and their class details to me. Its a message to them that we
are with you in your problems and your joys. For working parents in nuclear family its a tough task to find enough time to be with their kids.
We can plan time qualitatively. We can read stories, sing songs, do puzzles or play with
them. All these activities are energy boosters and make them more confident. This will make
them more attached to home.
I always prefer to speak about an event, like vacation activities or visit to the beach or visit to the temple. Its a great thing to hear from their view and how they perceived the world around them. Grand parents can do lot of things in this way. I still remember my grand mother telling stories to me with her hand soothing my hair. All these things are expressions of love.

Today he made a picture by pasting some cuttings. picture was of a fish in the water. The water was pictured by some waves of blue colour. In between the blue waves he pasted a fish in orange and red in colour. I was delighted to see his work. He tried to give a frame to the picture. Then he pasted it in our living room. After that he made an ice cream(cute picture of a corn ice cream) and handed over to his brother. He was inspired by the program 'mad' in pogo. It is an interesting program to trigger the creativity in children.

Some shots of children with my father during vacation. They had a wonderful time with my parents. Hari always comparing about the cool atmosphere at Kasimadom and the suffocating heat at Maradu. A lot of trees around my home make it cool. Plavu, Aanjili, Mahagony, Veppu, Vatta, Ilanji, Perumaram, Ambazham, Thekku are some of them. They played with my parents. 'Kuzhiyana' was their favourite friend.

Grand parents love them unconditionally and they allow them to play any thing and every thing. Its a great luck to have some days with grand parents its really a path to your childhood itself.

Yesterday he went to Picnic at Children's park Ernakulam with his friends. After the announcement of picnic day he was very happy and asked me what the term picnic means. He enjoyed the trip to the park and told me about the events there. He was very curious about the dancing fountain there. They travelled in the train in the park. He also mentioned about the statues of Mayavi, Kuttoosan and Dakini.
Children like to travel and visit new places. His school arranges field trips and visits to important places. Last week they visited Fire station and told me about the fire engine and its operation. He is very sensitive and also very keen about his surroundings.

The full name of Children's park is Indira Priyadarshini Park. The park is run by District Council for Child Welfare(DCCW). District Collector is the Chairman of DCCW. It is a renewable energy park in Kerala. The park has equipments working on Solar, Wind, thermal, micro hydel, bio mass and bio gas. This will create awareness among children about the non con conventional energy sources. The park has a wonderful dancing fountain and a pond with pedal boat facility. A park is not at all a place to play its also a place of relaxation, a place for communication thus a place for the uplift of the community. In foreign countries there are parks and play areas for people crossed 60! Its wonderful!!!This help them to exercise, have more laugh and strengthen their bonds...interesting story about the adult park...

Hari and Sree with their cousins on the top of a huge rock at Thookkupalam. Thookkupalam(means hanging bridge) is a main city in Idukki District. Thookkupalam 'Chanta' (market) is famous for transaction of cattles. Now a wind energy station is coming in Thookkupalam, attracting a lot of tourists. High range tourism is a bit more adventureous than back water tourism. Trekking wild life areas and travelling through forests.... Here in Thookkupalam tourists make temporary huts in the top of big mountains and enjoy the freedom of nature.
High range tourism includes Periyar wildlife sanctuary(Thekkady), Idukki wild life sanctuary, Munnar famous for hillstation and Neelakurinji flowers, Thattekkad bird sanctuary, Mattuppetty, Thommankuth waterfalls, Eravikulam national park and Chinnar wildlife sanctuary.
Sree was in good company with nandu chechi.

We enjoyed the trip to Highrange..A lot of space to play with Nandu, appuchetta and Mahesh chettan.

We usually spend most of the sunday evenings in Parks. Kunnara park is very near to us. I prefer this park because the other parks Subhash park and Children's park will be heavily packed with people. Kunnara park is near Thykkoodam. A river is flowing through the back of this park. An artificially formed island called Silversand island is also on the banks of the river. The park has some facilities to play for the children. OEN company and working women's hostel run by Athurasramam are in front of the park.

Subhash bose park is in heart of Ernakulam. A lot of space for children to play and a distant view of ships and the cool breeze from the Vembanad Lake make us more easy. Rich with flowers and trees, its a green island in the midst of the chaos of Ernakulam and also an Oxygen hub.

Children's park is also near to Subhash park. Boating facility, dancing fountain, playing facilities like see-saw, swinger and climbing grills, train for the children and vehicles for children make this more amusing.
Maradu park-Recently renovated with dancing fountain and garden. Very near to Kottaram Bhagavathi temple which is famous for the fireworks.

The name itself is enough to laugh!!! Today I was searching for a topic to write. When my thoughts directed towards my lovely children the Tom and Jerry began their chase. More chase and less breaks. This may be the most popular cartoon in the world. My 2 year old is also a viewer of the Cartoon Network.
The cartoon started on 1940. But it is still young and captures the attention of the toddlers. I also like to see this cartoon, I think it is always moving not moving always jerry is running and tom is chasing. Children have a high energy level and they always want to move around. This may be one reason behind the success.
In my childhood I was very eager to see the Boban and Molly cartoons. That cartoons was also a success. But now the channel culture reduced the reading habits and the children spent almost all of the time in front of the TV. Hari likes Micky mouse, Donald Duck, Pokemon, Mr.Bean and Blazing teens.

The fest is a great one may be the first in Kerala for the Kinder garten students. Rajagiri group of institutions have neat and nature friendly compound and apart from the pollutions of the Ernakulam. A 'fun time' for the little ones is also arranged. The function was inaugurated by cine star Geethu Mohandas. The price distribution was by Prithvi Raj and Vimala Rajan. All contestants got consolidatory prizes. It consists of some chocolates and Balarama, Kalikkudukka and Balabhumi.

Hari telling a story in Ramayana Mela at Changanacherry. He told a story about the 'sethubandhanam'. He narrated the little squirrel who also participated in the bridge making process and Srirama blessed him. Ramayana mela is a function carried out at Thrikkannapuram Temple, perunnai during Karkkidaka moth. Competitions based on Ramayana for children for two days. The temple is administered by Nair Service Society. Main deity is Sreekrishna and Sri Dharmashastha, Serpant, Hanuman is also there as sub deities.

Hari with his cousins Gopika and Achu at Kudamaloor. Gopika is very active and cute child. Her father is Mr.Unnikrishnan who is my husband's brother and they are living at Kudamaloor, Ambadikkavala.

Sree with Nandana. Nandana is sree's cousin and she is from Elappara. She is a cute and talkative girl with charming smile.

Sree in an 'Elephant ride'. Sree is really an elephant lover, moreover he is very craze about the

elephants. There will be one or two files with the photos and news collections on the top of my table. He will always fetch these pictures. He will become thrilled when he saw elephants in Animal Planet. His grand father who is an adamant elephant lover wrote a book on elephants.
